Crockpot Apple Butter

Crockpot Apple Butter

You'll need: Apples Granulated sugar Cinnamon Ground cloves (optional) Salt

Peel the apples and chop into a rough dice.  Tip: use a variety of apples if you have them. It makes for a more interesting apple butter!

Place all ingredients in a slow cooker.  Cook on high for 5–6 hours, stirring every hour or two.

The apples will break down and become very soft. And your home will smell AMAZING!

Whisk the apple butter until mostly smooth. Continue cooking on high for one additional hour with the lid OFF. This thickens the apple butter.

Pour into jars and refrigerate or freeze. (This is not a canning recipe.)  For the full recipe, click  "Get the recipe" below!
