You'll need:
Pork chops
Russet potatoes
Onion
Salt & pepper
Butter
Onion soup mix
Water
Start by slicing the potatoes into quarter-inch rounds.
Then, slice the onion.
Layer the potatoes and onions into a 13x9 inch baking dish.
Stir together the onion soup mix and water, and pour over the top.
Cover and bake for 45 minutes.
While the potatoes and onions are baking, sprinkle the pork chops with salt and pepper.
Sear the chops in butter until browned on both sides.
Place the chops on top of the potatoes, and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
