Wacky Cake

You'll need: Flour Sugar Cocoa powder Baking soda Salt Oil Vanilla Vinegar Water 

What makes this cake wacky? 1) It contains no eggs, milk, or butter (the lift comes from the combination of vinegar and baking soda).  2) It's mixed in the pan it's made in.

Why else is it wacky?  3) It has a bit of an unusual method (see it on the next slide).  While not necessary, it just adds to the wackiness of the cake!

Whisk the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder together in an ungreased 8x8 inch pan.  Make three wells, and fill one with the vinegar, one with the oil, and the last one with the vanilla.

Pour the water over the top, and mix gently just until combined.  Bake for 30–35 minutes at 350°F, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
