Cut a large hole across the top of the French bread, and remove the insides of the bread, making sure you don’t puncture the sides of bottom of the loaf.
In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese with the shredded cheddar and sour cream. A hand mixer is easiest here, or mix by hand.
Fold in the green onions, chopped ham, green chiles, and worcestershire sauce.
Pour the mixture into the hollowed out bread bowl. Replace the top, and wrap in foil.
Place on a sheet pan and bake for 1 hour.
Unwrap from the foil and plate on a serving platter with crackers, veggies, etc., to scoop it up.

Notes
Dipper ideas: baby carrots, celery, Fritos Scoops, tortilla chips, pieces of the hollowed-out bread loaf, the lid of the bread bowl, Triscuits, Wheat Thins, Ritz crackers, Town House crackers, melba toasts, etc. My favorite dipper is pieces of the hollowed-out bread loaf. They dry out a bit on the counter when the dip is baking, so they're great for scooping!Replacement ideas for the ham: bacon, cooked ground sausage, ground beef, diced dried beef, crab, tuna (for "mock crab dip"), or shrimp. Want it spicy? Add diced jalapeños and some Tabasco. Hot Italian sausage would be great, too. Cooking time: YES you really need to cook it for an hour for the cheesy to get gooey. If it's completely wrapped in foil, it will not burn. Don't want the bread bowl? You can bake the dip in an 8x8-inch dish, covered, for 30 minutes OR melt everything together on the stove and transfer it to a slow cooker on "warm".
