Easy Cube Steak with Cream of Mushroom Soup
This easy Cube Steak with Cream of Mushroom Soup is classic comfort food. With just five simple ingredients, you can have a tender and flavorful meal that the whole family will love.

Easy crockpot meals are essential at this stage of life for me. I love finding new recipes for simple meals with just a few ingredients.
This Easy Crockpot Cube Steak recipe is the perfect example! Similar to my Crockpot Pork Chops and my Easy Beef Stroganoff, it uses a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup as a recipe starter.
I love how the cube steak gets so tender that you can cut it with a fork. And the rich brown gravy is packed with savory flavor thanks to the packet of brown gravy mix.

Ingredients

- Cube steaks are relatively inexpensive compared to other cuts of beef. I found them for $5.99/lb at my local grocery store. Ask the butcher to order them if you can’t find them.
- A can of condensed cream of mushroom soup + a packet of brown gravy mix create the rich sauce for the steaks.
- Onion powder and worcestershire sauce amp up the flavor even more. You’ll likely only need a pinch of salt for this recipe, or just leave it out entirely as there is salt in the gravy mix, soup, and worcestershire sauce.
How to make crockpot cube steaks with cream of mushroom soup
Start by whisking together the cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy mix, worcestershire sauce, and onion powder in a slow cooker. Add the cube steaks, and use tongs to turn the steaks to coat them with the gravy.

Cover and cook on high for 3–4 hours or on low for 6–7 hours.
Cooking the cube steaks in the gravy will make them tender as they slow cook in the crockpot.

That’s it! This easy cube steak recipe is ready to serve. Add a little fresh parsley for a pop of color, if you’d like.
Variations
- Substitute cream of chicken or cream of celery soup for the cream of mushroom soup.
- Substitute 1 cup of beef broth in place of the brown gravy mix + water. The sauce will be a little thinner.
- Add a tablespoon of Lipton onion soup mix for even more savory onion flavor. Omit the onion powder and salt if you choose this option.
- Use soy sauce instead of worcestershire sauce.
- Use a sliced yellow onion in place of the onion powder.
- Add sliced mushrooms (add them to the slow cooker with the cube steaks). You can use either fresh or canned.

This was so easy to make with many items that I usually have in my pantry. My husband loved it and is already planning to have it again
That’s great to hear! Thanks for commenting, Marsha!
Have you ever doubled this recipe?
I haven’t but I suspect it would turn out just fine with double of everything.
